I have to admit that the first time I heard Endless Summer, I absolutely hated it. There was absolutely nothing redeeming about this music so there was no use in even bothering with it. Back this past winter, however, I was being told by someone about how great it was so I decided to go ahead and give it another shot since I had not tried it out in a while since then. At that moment I finally understood what this music was about. I think before then I was looking for music that maybe had a nice melody, or something easy on the ears but I did not understand until then that some music is made for the sole purpose of creating a certain feeling or moment in time, and on Endless Summer I feel like that is exactly what Fennesz is trying to give the listener. He has created this certain moment in time which we can now get lost in any time we listen to his record. This, much like Young Prayer is an album that has to age with time. Again, this is more than just music, it is instead a work of art which portrays a moment that is beautiful and something we can get lost in forever.
