Virginia Astley is a musician that I feel to be sorely unappreciated. Hope In A Darkened Heart is no doubt one of my favorite albums of all time and I just can't get over how beautiful this album truly is. It's the reverb heavy 80's production, and the heavy use of synths that really get to me here. Astley's voice also sets a very soothing and calm mood, and it fits this style of music perfectly. From Gardens Where We Feel Secure is yet another gem as it literally transports the listener into a beautiful English garden far away in isolation from any outside worries and fears. I'm really hoping her music can make a rising in the coming year's much like Vashti Bunyan did over the past few years. Her music is truly something special and I really hope more people can get into it.
